What types of events can I hold at Memphis Botanic Garden?

We can accommodate any type of event, large or small. We have experience with wedding ceremonies, receptions, bridal luncheons, corporate meetings, holiday parties, dinner parties, and more! If you need a space for any event, we can accommodate you!

 

What all is included with my garden wedding fee?

We include the garden space of your choosing for 1 hour of time for your ceremony and 1 hour of time the day beforehand for your rehearsal. Ceremony chairs are an additional rental to be coordinated by Memphis Botanic Garden.

 

What is included with my rental fee for Hardin hall, the goldsmith room, or Sara's place?

We include the space for 4 hours of event time, tables, indoor chairs, and linens for your buffet and bar tables. All other linens or rental items are an additional rental to be coordinated by Memphis Botanic Garden.

 

Can I bring in my own rental items? (chairs, linens, tents, etc.)

No, all rental items must be coordinated by Memphis Botanic Garden.

 

How long before the event do I have access to the space?

Typically you will have access to the space at least 3 hours before the start time of your event. At this time, the tables, chairs, and any rental items provided through the Memphis Botanic Garden will be set according to a layout you have approved.

 

Can I have the space for more than 4 hours for my event?

Yes, we can rent the space to you for $200 per additional hour. Special pricing can be provided for all-day or multiple day events.

 

How late can my event last?

All events must end by midnight.

 

What cleanup is required after my event?

You must take out any items that you brought in. Memphis Botanic Garden staff will break down all tables, chairs, and rental items provided by MBG.

 

Do you allow caterers who are not on your approved list?

All of the caterers on our approved list have been thoroughly vetted and come highly recommended. However, if you require a caterer who is not on that list, you will be charged a $2 fee per guest. In addition, we require all unapproved caterers to provide us with a copy of their business license, insurance policies, and most recent health code inspection.

 

What is your cancellation policy?

All deposits are nonrefundable. If an event is cancelled 180 days before the event date, we require the rental fee to be paid in full.

 

Do you have any décor restrictions? (confetti, glitter, etc.)

All candles must be an enclosed flame (i.e. in a glass container). Confetti, glitter, balloons, and artificial flowers are not permitted.

 

Can I bring in my own alcohol?

Memphis Botanic Garden must provide all alcoholic beverages as well as ABC licensed bar tenders. Please contact us for pricing.

 

Does Memphis Botanic Garden provide any Audio/Visual equipment?

The Goldsmith Room and Sara's Place both have screens, projectors, PA systems, and microphones. Hardin Hall does not have any A/V equipment. Any additional A/V needs must coordinated by Memphis Botanic Garden.
