Plus, based on availability, you’ll enjoy the nearby Bride’s Room (which works great as a green room for keynote speakers or event VIPs). This flexible indoor space offers direct Garden access via the Sculpture Garden and is located inside the Garden’s Visitors Center. Removable walls and nearby add-on smaller spaces offer the opportunity for breakouts sessions, simultaneous programming, & pre- or post- event spaces. It’s also the perfect pair to a Rose Garden wedding.

This intimate space inside the Visitors Center offers floor-to-ceiling views of our recently renovated Water Garden. Works well for small gatherings & as an add-on to one of the nearby venues.

Water Garden

This outdoor room, located inside the Visitors Center, was recently modernized. This landscaped patio area is easily accessible and features, Kinetic Crane, a large and colorful kinetic sculpture by local artist Yvonne Bobo in collaboration with engineer Anuj Anjaria. This venue easily connects with other spaces for larger or staged events.

Japanese Garden

Japanese gardens are designed to celebrate the beauty and wonder of nature and nurture your spirit as well as your senses. Our garden’s name, Seijaku-En (pronounced SAY-jock-ou-en), literally translates as the ‘Garden of Tranquility.’ This special space offers year-round interest and distinctive elements include the Half Moon and Zigzag bridges crossing a koi-filled lake and a Moongazing Pavilion overlooking the garden.

Iris Garden

The Iris Garden was the first established garden on the grounds. This circular formal garden offers a unique location for an intimate ceremony and features a central fountain.

Sensory Garden

This special garden is located just around the corner from our Visitors Center. The plantings offer a sensory experience in every season and feature every class of plants grown on the MBG grounds from trees, shrubs, and groundcovers to annuals, perennials, and bulbs. A pergola entry, obelisk focal point, and nighttime lighting create a wonderful ambiance for receptions, special events, and gatherings.

Garden Ceremony Package

The Memphis Botanic Garden’s unique specialty gardens and sweeping natural vistas create the perfect backdrop for your wedding ceremony. With 30 specialty gardens over 96 acres, you’ll fall in love with a perfect spot. Our garden ceremonies can accommodate groups of any size.

  • Garden Space of your Choosing for 2 Hours – 1 Hour Ceremony, 1/2 Hour Pre (Seating), 1/2 Hour Post (Pictures) (Based on Availability at Time of Booking)

We can accommodate any type of event, large or small. We have experience with wedding ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, bridal luncheons, corporate meetings & retreats, holiday parties, dinner parties, celebrations of life, and more! If you need a space for any event, we can accommodate you!

No, all rental items must be coordinated by Memphis Botanic Garden.

Typically, you will have access to the space at least 3 hours before the start time of your event. At this time, the tables, chairs, and any rental items provided through the Memphis Botanic Garden will be set according to a layout you have approved.

All events must end by midnight.

You must take out any items that you brought in. Memphis Botanic Garden staff will break down all tables, chairs, and rental items provided by MBG.

Catering services can only be provided by caterers that are on the MBG Approved List of Caterers. All caterers on the approved catering list comply with all rules and regulations for MBG and the City of Memphis.

All deposits are nonrefundable-nontransferable. Cancellation of the facility rental for any reason other than an act of nature or public calamity shall not relieve the lessee from obligation of the rental fee.

All candles must be an enclosed flame (i.e. in a glass container). Confetti, glitter, balloons, fireworks, and artificial flowers are NOT permitted. Throwing of rice, confetti, artificial flowers, and birdseed is NOT permitted.

All alcoholic beverages as well as ABC-licensed bartenders must be supplied through MBG-approved vendors. We have three bar vendor options: CFY, Paradox, & Serving Size.
